I still think china's government is a bunch of slobs though. They could at least try to clean up after themselves. I mean, say what you want but at least someone complains here. Another reason why communism fails.
dude... wtf. their cars cost like 1/4 the cost of an american car if not cheaper and are generally fuel efficient as they target those that cannot afford copious amounts of fuel.
the easiest source of power would be coal. and they use coal. they have coal mineable in their backyard and they prop up Aussie coal industries by buying out black stuff.
even though China have just about the same amount of CO2 released as USA... they have 5 times more populus. that and they produce little plastic pieces of rubbish to export the world over.
pick up 5 random tidbits of furniture/clothing/utensils/anything.
unless you actively purchase locally made products or buy luxury goods. 4/5 of those things would be made in china. to make those things requires energy. I doubt USA wants another country with a nuclear powerplant, COUGHNUKESCOUGH especially one that is potentially the future powerhouse of the world.
oh did i mention that 6 chinese have the ecological footprint of 1 american?
anyways. i say screw global warming. if it brings incentive for more innovative ways to live using less then bring it on. if it results in politicians simply using it as leverage then... it isnt useful. try ecological footprints. those put things into perspective.
Victoria aka. land of the duck. has a higher then Aust ecological footprint because we use brown coal :3
and the government is sternly ANTI SOLAR POWER
look to finland or germany or generally europe. they are the innovators of technology. seeing apollo's post on religion... USA will be lucky to not be a backwater country if they continue to rely on a source of power that requires constant digging and sourcing.
