Ow ... my ... gawd wrote: As of today, the torrent website thepiratebay.com has 10 days to block all incoming traffic from The Netherlands. Such is ruled by a lawsuit Dutch anti-piracy company "BREIN" started against the popular Swedish site. Even though The Pirate Bay will renew their business plan by only adding legal content, Dutch judges ruled that the site is to be banned in The Netherlands.
This is the first time such a mayor ban ever occured in The Netherlands, and it worries me a great deal. What is this, China?
Note: BREIN is not a government agency. The problem with this verdict is that [appearantly] everyone can rule for getting a website banned, which is obviously a very disturbing situation.

I saw the words internet & censorship together without the "can not be controlled by" in the middle & I was like WTF. ~ Long live ThePirateBay I mean it's only a matter of time till some group of people see the need to confront the server's in question & "uncensor" things, you can take away MaryJane & boot leg movies but you can't take away TPB.

MaryJane belong in the Netherlands, but yeah TPB is the best site i can find for downloading, and as the norwegian spokesman say, they are not doing anything illegal, they are not distrubuting the illegal files, just showing people where to find them

Google 'torrents'. You get more results from Google than you do from TPB. So why aren't Google getting sued/banned?

So why aren't Google getting sued/banned? that is a major argument against the decision pirate bay dont actually host the files, they simply point you in the direction as a search engine. google gives you more results (not necessarily as useful). technically google should get banned too.. all Pirate bay has to do is put some legit torrents there, then it is on par with google.
