From the outset let me stress that I think that its great that the game has been updated and I was really looking forward to playing it.

What I am livid about is way it has been introduced. The unannounced and sweeping introduction of the new client has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many.

People have paid real cash into servers that are to all intents and purposes now defunct. No new players can join them so the populations of these worlds will shrink. Add to this the many players who will just leave to play the new client and pretty soon the 'old' worlds will be empty.

E1 is a particularly good example of the poor execution of the crossover from old to new. E1 only restarted @ 100 ticks before the new client was introduced. Why was the restart not delayed until now? E1 had not even reached its starting potential as many people had not even signed up yet. Now - they can't!

They're all off playing a new E1 and we are left hanging on a dying world. A game that should have lasted 1000's of ticks is now virtually over after 100. All the money already spent on packages and boosts wasted because in a few weeks there won't be enough left to fight over.

Yeah - I know - its evil to buy packages and money is ruining the game .. blah .. blah .. blah!

But this is the crux of the matter. The ultimate justtification for packages has always been that the money given was being used to pay to run the game and more importantly to pay for the development of the game. So where is the moral justification to sticking it to the very people who paid for the upgrades.

I do not know if people who paid into a game that the administrators knew was about to become obsolete have any legal recourse, but I do know that the actions of the admin were certainly morally wrong.

With 1 simple announcement in the forums all the players signing up to E1 would simply have waited a few days and the 'buzz' would have been amazing! Instead you let us put money in a game that had no future. And that policy is just plain wrong!

Battledawn - Please do the right thing. I realise that you won't willingly return the money but you could at least change it into credits on the new client.

I'll second this.

It seems rather pointless to spend money on a round and within a weeks time, all that money and upgrading has become nullified by the lack of new players arriving in the servers.

I believe, a fair way is to express those lost resources into your new Earth 1 account in the new client.
however, I feel it should be introduced a few hundred tics into the game yet, to avoid the dangers of unfair play so early on in the game..

i think it should be introduced this way:
every admin should mass a msg to each of the server about the beta

i agree and would like to point out that part of the support package was that u got 5000 metal and 5000 oil apon the restart of the world...

i had supported in E1 before the new client was released, but was given no extra resources in the new E1... so does this mean that i am just not going to receive that part of my support package? without notice, the services already paid for are being revoked?

Guys do not make battle dawn admins angry they already know whats going on and they also know that they made some mistake (That u guys pointed out ) .

Andrew (:ugeek: ) said he is working on this and ur problem will be fixed soon .

So , the admins may shift all ur colonies to E 1 or just take a similar action .

I do ask where that was posted at as well.

The game went down the drain.. This was a poorly planned time to roll out the new client. And then it crashes multiple times.. well what the heck.

I still stand by as when e2 is done when I am conquered or the round ends it will be my last round.

Earth 1 definitely seems to be the hardest hit by this launch and I agree that the launch is most likely going to cause issues in E1. Currently there are 1900 accounts on Earth 1 so the round is by no means dead however the near future of the round is uncertain for sure. I will be discussing this situation with Michael(BD Head) later today to determine how best to correct the situation we presently have.

I will not let this round be ruined for non-supporters and supporters alike!

-Andrew

I appreciate that Andrew, always looking out for us. The fact of the matter is that 1900 players is nothing, even if there were 3000 players right now it would not be enough because the population will shrink fourfold.

First the inactives will delete with no one to take their place.
Second people will simply stop playing because there is something new to play.
Third people will not play because some will inevitably not be able to figure out how to get to the new website and reregister, or will choose not to.
Forth, like most in my alliance, will not play because of the other three groups of people leaving, thereby ruining the server.

Even if you reintroduce registration, no one will do it because everything points new players to the new client. I love the hard work that has gone into this, I was really looking forward to it, but combined with the fact that there was no time to organize plans for alliances on the new client... it's just a huge mess. I agree with KOA here on every point, while the supporters cannot exactly expect special treatment, and the TOS states that there is no expectations to be made from any donators... the simple fact is the people that paid for this new client are the people most screwed over by it.

Yeah, i just want to say again I have been looking forward to playing the new game and hope that this can be resolved quickly.

I am quite sure that the admin's have every intention of maximising all players enjoyment but sometimes events can get out of even their control.

The main source of my annoyance and disappointment is purely on the timing of the new game. If I, and I am sure others had been aware that the new client was to be enacted in such a short space of time we would simply have waited for the 'new E1' to start.

All we want is that Tacticsoft correct the situation and allow us to transfer over any packages bought into tokens for the new game. This won't cost the game any money and would certainly engender alot of goodwill from those concerned.

Come on BD - do the right thing !
