I would call it inhumane to do it without the family's consent. Same with abortion I feel like it's the family's decision not mine, yours, or even the doctors right to decide whether or not someone lives or dies.

whether or not with consent someone is ending anther's life. That should never be legalized.

That's my opinion, if a family member is painfully suffering and the doctors confirmed that there is no way of making it better and the family all agreed that it's the best decision. I see no reason not to.

I agree with Anarchist. I also think, that the patient must be diagnosed with a serious illness, and must have AGREED (before he/she fell sick and is in a sound state of mind) to be able to be euthanised if their family agreed it the best option for them.

i think euthanasia is just a pretty word to suicide. or killing.

You're stuck in an old age home with a severe case of alzheimers, not able to feed yourself, speak, or toilet yourself. Your wife, kids and grandchildren have been visiting you every weekend for the past year and a half, only to see your condition deteriorate every visit. I would prefer to have a peaceful, timely passing where everybody is with me, than be stuck in that situation any longer.. Continuing to be a burden on my family.
