After 18 days of protesting Egyptian President Mubarak has announced that after 30 years in power he will step down fron his position as president and to transfer authority to the egyptian military while the government transitions to a democracy
now the hard work begins
the military was the center point of the previous government and hated by the people and now has control of the transitional government but will they be so willing to give up all the power they have had the last 60 years
egypt's economy was weakening before the protesting and the days of turmoil have weakened even further and if it isn't stabilized egypt might fall into chaos
egypt has been a strong ally in the area for Israel by supporting the peace aggrement signed by the president before Mubarak and now is in danger losing that close relationship between the two nations
can the new egypt overcome these threats to change and become a become a leader of democracy in the arab world

And oh, keep the closeness with Israel. Egypt has had many revolutions and religions, I for one would not be surprised if it would turn into a civil war.

im laughing at the people that think this is the greatest thing in the world when technically its now a military junta.
egypt should be fine. its one of the more stable countries in the middle east as opposed to Iran's government falling.

Sadly, Libya isn't fairing the same way. Unarmed protesters are being shot down. I feel sorry for them.
