Yep, it’s that time again. Championship Era 2014 is over so I’m going to be posting a summary again  And I can repeat the exact lines I used last time.
First of all I’d just like to thank everyone that has played this era, whether it has been against or on our side. This has been a very memorable era for me, and a very fun one as well in which I met lots of new people.

I wrote this summary so that when people in the future wonder what the Championship Era 2014 was like, they will have a story to read. There might not be many that do this, but I know I always like to read back about old eras. Remember that this summary is written from my point of view: Senatus of Kong BD from RDH (mostly).
Now, as the era started, I myself wasn’t playing yet. I was travelling around the world and did not have time to play at all. So this early part is all taken from this thread viewtopic.php?f=414&t=29880, my Skype convos at the time, and simply from what I have been told since.
The first ticks seemed promising. KCA had started in Africa , much as VND had done last era, while the rank 1 alliance NASA had started in Europe. At the same time there is rank 3 Nex in England, rank 4 HINI in North America, and rank 6 PHI in South East Asia. NASA quickly expanded east into Asia while KCA expanded eastwards and southwards deeper into Africa. All other alliances of course also expanded, but it’s easier to check the alliance territory screenies in the thread I mentioned earlier to get a good view on that. NASA and PHIz (rank 2 and 3 respectively) start fighting around tick 120 in the middle of Asia, while the rest held their breath to see what KCA (rank 1) would do. However, disappointingly it turned out that NASA was simply a KCA sub. When this came out, NASA tried to get KCA to fight PHIz and subs with them, and after some time KCA and SRB (a KCA sub) joined in. This allowed NASA to pull back from the war a bit, after which they started fighting Nex who at this time occupied Greenland. The war in South East Asia was still ongoing with both sides quite evenly matched and neither side making much progression.
Around tick 300 NASA changed their name from NASA into RDH (Rania Don’t Hate) since they no longer wanted to be a KCA sub, and they decided to be neutral to KCA while fighting Nex. On the following image, RDH is white.

Spoiler:

RDH chose course of action 1, becoming hostile to KCA in the process. What followed was quick reaction from KCA and subs in Europe (CnC, WeNo, some others), and a long war over North America between HINI/Nex and RDH. At this point RDH was simply trying to defend Greenland while advancing further and further into North America. HINI is getting pushed back increasingly fast, but then 1v1 joined in on HINI’s side and started attacking RDH too. At the same time KCA had gotten a NAP with PHIz allowing KCA them to move themselves and their subs west to Europe to put more pressure on RDH in North America. Things are looking quite good for the KCA coalition at this point (around tick 500) with their coalition either gaining or holding on all fronts. Around this time however a sneaky few conspired to try and change what was happening in the era and managed to change around some stuff.

Spoiler:

With the map looking like this, NJ and WSS were convinced to join the fight on the “coalition’s” side. After a long time of war in North and South America HINI and 1v1 start relocating to Africa to join up with the rest of the KCA subs (WeNo, ReCo, Nex, CP, CP1, OOPS etc). At this point PHIz and KCA make yet another NAP allowing KCA and subs to turn their attention on Greenland.

This is around tick 700.

Spoiler:

NJ has taken over AA from the weak KCA presence there while KCA had sent their subs forward to Greenland while they were moving from east Asia towards Europe. As calling these subs subs does not really do them justice as they had amazing players RDH and WSS were having trouble holding Greenland. NJ came to Greenland as well, and at the same time PHIz once again started fighting KCA (now KMO). After this KCA’s territory went from

All KMO’s subs were now firmly established in Africa and it was close to impossible to invade the Europe/Africa front from the Americas. With the KCA coalition being at a numerical advantage and PHIz having been pushed back into Indonesia, the KCA coalition locked off South Africa and West Africa and sent some more subs into Greenland. This time it was HINI and 1v1. RDH got temporarily pushed back in Greenland again but managed to once again push the subs out of Greenland. As you might be aware of by now, it was a constant push/pull situation with the two sides being quite balanced. 1v1 (KMO sub) once again flew into Greenland and established quite a front while Nubs joined the war on PHIz side and pushed KMO out of Indonesia.

Spoiler:

However, once again RDH/NJ/WSS managed to push the KCA subs out of Greenland and now things were looking down for KMO. By tick 1200 they were fighting hard over East Asia but losing it relatively fast to the combined forces of PHI and subs + nubs. More hardships were coming for KMO as RDH spearheaded an entry into Scandinavia from Greenland and NJ flew in too.

Spoiler:
Image

Stuff was going well for the anti-KCA coalition in Europe and Asia, however at the same time BA and TW who had been building all era decided to backstab NJ just after one of NJ’s strongest members (Juno/Tirkairi) had backstabbed NJ out of anger causing them to lose much of their network. NJ however was still barraging through Africa with RDH making it hard for them to defend.

Spoiler:
Image

By this time KMO and their subs had started relocating to east AA as this was a safe spot provided to them by BA and TW that had joined the KCA coalition. This really made it quite terrible as it was now tick 1500 and the war again looked nowhere near ending. This is also around the point where I joined the era, joining NJ. I had to jump right into the war. With RDH/PHIz/nubs all still in Africa NJ was expected to hold the line for a good few hundred ticks which they pulled off brilliantly. When finally the rest of the allies arrived, KMO was pushed back rather quickly. Because of a coordinated lock between RDH/WSS/PHIz that involved 11 players KCA was locked down, RDH flew in and got the kill. 1v1 attempted to save KCA by sending to hit 1 tick later, but RDH took the full blow. By this point I had transferred from NJ to RDH. After this lock, the KMO coalition was finally broken and it was a mad dash through AA to get to the east of AA where their colonies were. After agreeing on an allocation for the crystals, we spent some time hunting down all the armies still left there which lead to what I believe is the biggest R5 kill ever.

Spoiler:
Image

Either way, by then their resistance was obviously broken and everyone was waiting for the next phase of the era to commence. You see, early era was now done with the great KCA coalition dying, and it was about time to start the second world war. In the meantime, during this great KCA war, GOAT had formed out of some strong ex-NJ players and some other random players. Lead by Colin they had quite some good names. At the same time in RDH we were getting quite annoyed with some players who did not seem to be helpful at all to the team effort. A few ticks later we found out why. RDH was backstabbed by their leader (James) and 2 others (Lady Cath and Bones), while PHIz was backstabbed by Kenny and Will. At the same time, WSS backstabbed NJ/RDH, GOAT backstabbed NJ/RDH/PHIz/Nubs, Moo was pulled into the war on GOAT’s side, and the backstab alliance created a new team called RU. Furthermore TLA also joined in on the backstabbing side. The players from WSS that left to form RU’s sub formed YOHO, and so there were quite a new few alliances pulled into the war.

Speaking purely from RDH’s point of view, I was extremely proud of our guys. Rather than being broken by losing most of our network (which at this point spanned the entire world) and being down 3 players, everyone got online immediately and simply started salvaging whatever was possible. We lost entire Africa and Asia, Europe, and most of North America. PHIz and nubs were practically pushed back into South Asia. This left us and NJ with only South America and Antarctica secure, and South America had the full RU/YOHO armies in it. Combined with NJ we were however able to push them up slowly, scoring some small kills on the way but also realizing RU really was a very good team. They made little mistakes but were outnumbered since they were fighting both NJ and us. YOHO fell mostly to our R5 meaning they barely dented our armor, and eventually we had pushed back RU into Greenland while at the same time PHIz and Nubs had regained control over Africa, Europe and most of Asia. RU had Andrei (Cosmin) who had sworn to take me down this era for not being on his side, so I have to show this for amusement value.
Spoiler:
Image

The rest of RU however was too stubborn to die, and it took us quite a while until we managed to lock them down and kill them. It was a good battle for us with armor loss only, and so the second great war had ended.
Spoiler:
Image

Looking back this war had taken a lot shorter than the KCA war, starting around tick 2200 and the full RU armies dying tick 2687. Nubs and PHIz had however not yet fully dealt with GOAT and Moo, so RDH allowed them some time to solve this since we did not want to attack Nubs/phiz while GOAT was not fully dealt with yet.

At this point in the era NJ held 4 relics, RDH 2, PHIz 2 and Nubs 2. Because of the backstab RDH and NJ’s presence in Africa was not very strong, while PHIz and nubs had established control of everything east of the west coast of Africa. We therefore knew we had to get first strike in this war to stand a chance, and we did at tick 2941. To be honest that war was very hard on us, not sure if it can be seen on the screenies but PHI (later called llll) really had a lot of subs and we were constantly outnumbered. RDH was spread out in 8 places at one point and doing OP to OP fighting on all those fronts, so it was quite impossible for us trying to coordinate to keep track of it all. Our members however did absolutely splendidly with no one making any big mistakes and with nubs/phiz being pushed back slowly. NJ was spearheading into Saudi Arabia, while I had gone quite deep behind enemy lines to try and draw some units with me (which worked, 250 squads). Luckily for us we had an ace up our sleeve in the form of RBR who joined in on our side and started barraging through Asia. RBR hadn’t been involved in any major wars all era, but as it turned out their players had been very ready for this one. With RBR’s help we were finally getting some traction in pushing back llll, and scoring some kills on the way. Many kills were pure R5 meaning we took no losses, but I won’t bore you with that.
Tick 3100
Spoiler:
Image

However just as we were really starting to be able to gain, RU and GOAT backstabbed us yet again. They had relocated to east AA under the protection of KCA (now KR) and since we did not have the units to deal with it we had made a NAP with them hoping they would be friendly. Obviously they wouldn’t. We from RDH had to pull 5 armies off the front including mine to deal with RU as quickly as possible, and this proved to be more than they had been prepared for. Most of RU died without us taking major losses, and within a few hundred ticks Kenny’s crew had died once again. This had however cost us quite some time, but at least now we could get our full armies back to the llll front again. The remaining 5 RDH + NJ and RBR who had been joined by Moo had held PHIz very well. Once we had returned the long battle over India ensued, which was half filled with camps and with potential agents everywhere making it terribly hard to advance. On top of that llll’s subs still had a lot of units alive, so everytime one of those made a hard push we had to move back a bit again. Around tick 3700 (yes, that is 5 months of fighting) we had finally pushed llll and their subs back into Indonesia and Australia.

Spoiler:
Image

We could however advance no more as what was in front of us was a massive camp wall. There was not a single spot to place an OP, and any OP that we could attack longer ETA was razed to turn into a camp. There just really was no advancing. However, we figured we could do that trick as well, so trusting Moo/NJ/RBR to hold the front with the camps on our side we thought it time to secure our position a bit more. While we were warring llll, the old KCA coalition had rebuilt with their top 3 alliances (SK, WeNo, HINI) at a combined 4800 power again. They were also quite spread out through our network, so we felt very vulnerable. Realising there was no better time than now to secure our position more, we (RDH) initiated war with SK (what used to be KR). We believed this war would take a long time as KR and their subs were simply FILLED with good players, however as it turned out we won this war much quicker than expected. With a few good locks and with quite a lot of nice R5 kills we not only took down about 4500 of their 4800 power, we also gained power while doing it and established a stronghold in east AA.
Tick 4135

http://prntscr.com/5iyj6b
Now we come to the final part of the era. With RBR/NJ/Moo in South East Asia, RDH in East AA and all the llll alliances tightly locked in in Australia it was time for the final blow. NJ flew their massive armies into Indonesia by force relocating a conquer, while at the same time RBR flew into the Philippines and RDH flew from New Zealand which we had taken earlier to the east coast of Australia. Three armies at the same time was too many to organize a defense against, especially as we had fully jammed them making them unable to defend quickly. Once we had flown into Australia the era was practically over with llll knowing the era was lost. The era however still dragged on for quite a while because of the obscene amount of colonies and units in Australia and the fact that PHIz and nubs both flew to their respective relics. PHIz gave up first, and died to nukes. Nubs however got out of reach of the nukes by flying west out of Australia and caused us some headaches. We weren’t sure where they were headed, they could try to jump into Madagascar. Luckily their spirit was broken as well, so when they finally flew into AA we were there to defend from them. After a few days of fighting in AA Nubs saw it was a lost cause and decided to suicide on us. We did not let this happen as we knew we could get a better battle than that by waiting for an ideal chance to strike with a nuke or a spy. At this point Nubs had gotten so sick of it that their entire alliance (2500 odd power) decided to disband. And with that, the era had really ended. NJ handed over their relics to RDH and took second place, while RBR took third place.

Great summary Meeeelan!

Glad to have had the honor of playing with such good teammates. Took some time to get the best team but it all turned out well.

Would like to point out that while going neutral against KCA and not being a sub anymore, we had a max of 7 players while invading North America against 3 HINI alliances. Good times good times.

Was fun playing and see yall next CE!

Well the nubs part is incorrect

Luckily their spirit was broken as well, so when they finally flew into AA we were there to defend from them. After a few days of fighting in AA Nubs saw it was a lost cause and decided to suicide on us. We did not let this happen as we knew we could get a better battle than that by waiting for an ideal chance to strike with a nuke or a spy. At this point Nubs had gotten so sick of it that their entire alliance (2500 odd power) decided to disband. And with that, the era had really ended. NJ handed over their relics to RDH and took second place, while RBR took third place.

We did not get sick of anything, we were going on vacation to enjoy the holidays so decided "hey guys we came here to troll so lets go out in style with disband and get on the plane to our destinations" Spirit was not broken, it was raised cause real life vacation is much more fun then looking at a computer screen oh ya and we were not suicide, we had a bet your team would run which you did so i won the bet ty, the plan was to land and disband, i disbanded mine at the airport and had a fun time on the beach.

I always find it amusing when people call out others for not taking a battle that's not completely advantageous to one side. In this case, nubs had a decent amount of R5 and an army to match up against RDH in numbers. To top this off, a very focused anti chassis against RDH (because all of RDH's allies were the same chassis as them...) while RDH had to continue focusing on building multiple different chassis types to counter the llll coalition. As Moo found out by taking the battle against IND, even with significantly larger numbers of squads (55 squads in this case), having 1 side with nearly pure anti vehicle (which we were) and the other with 65% explosive (the WORST anti chassis match up in the world for us), we found ourselves on the horrible end of a fiasco that only killed about 70% of what we ran into, despite the larger numbers.

Anywho, went off on a tangent there.... It's never a bad idea to wait and attempt to tire out your enemy until they make a mistake. Part of the reason Kevin (Kane) was so renown was due to the fact that he almost never took a battle unless it was completely advantageous to his side. Many screamed of cowardice, but in the end, the results don't lie.

RDH had no full proof that NJ, RBR and Moo would not turn their gazes against them after the llll war. I originally told Milan that I intended to fight him if I got a hold of a relic. Technically.... I did get ahold of a relic... but lost it soon there after  And I'm fairly known to be a bit unpredictable  But by the time llll was no more, even I was tired of CE.

So there's no shame in playing smart. Especially when you are capable of calling all 10 members online at nearly anytime.
