recently it has been all over the news, IMO its ridiculous, the mosque is 2 city blocks from where the 911 attacks occured but that doesnt matter.
those werent the people that did the attacks, they merely are leasing some land for a place of worship.
for me its a simple matter, either you are american, you listen to the constitution with its freedom for religion, or you get swept up with the republicans and hate for the sake of hating.
your opinion?

this makes me sad america was made to be a tolerant place for all people but most of the places i see discussions on this tend to be narrow minded bigots who just spew "Muslims are terrorists" and "obama is a terrorist for supporting it" it makes me sad to have seen america fall so far most are judging all muslims based on a small group of extremists Islam preaches violence against non believers as much as Christianity and Judaism the proposed community center that has a mosque in it is two blocks away an area which includes hundreds of buildings most of which i wouldn't have on hallowed ground here are some buildings the same distance away from ground zero as the mosque http://daryllang.com/blog/4421the site of the twins tower is hallowed but not the area around it i have seen no legitimate reason to prevent the building of the mosque it has all been fear and hate a Florida church even stated it would hold a Quran Burning on September 11th to protest the building of the mosque i wish them the best with building it and the following protests and threats once it is up

If it wasn't election year then the debates would already be over the issue is the flaws in a two party system. There is no law against this building however it can be in bad taste even 9 years later. The issue really is the politicization of the conflict by the media. Blame CNN and Fox.
The only thing regarding muslim's seen on the news is suicide bombers that's why the uneducated are afraid that this will turn into a giant terrorist training center and that Al Queda and the Taliban will use this building as a recruiting tool. Call us foolish americans both for being intolerant and for allowing this at a "sacred site"(Twin Towers wreckage). This staying in the news is a lose/lose for all parts of society and polarizing the nation for the attempt at voter turnout is pathetic.
Now on Obama.. LAWL... I love how he's going to go back and forth on what he says until he chokes on his foot, he's all about power for himself the democrats and for the federal government past that there aren't many true core beliefs to be found. You can only buy votes through domestic spending for so long and he's been increasingly realizing that it's hard to deliver all incompassing conflicting promises he made on the campaign trail. Before you call me a right wing nut, republicans are (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..) for the guns and bible rhetoric they spin and sanctions on Iran sadly will only hurt the Iranian populace who happen to be the only ones who can return Iran to intelligent decision making. When you marginalize their capitalists and free thinkers through crushing their economy it becomes an added tool of power for their oppressive government and radical islam.

i tend to feel that obama's opinion is his original address at that dinner thing, everything else is damage control cause of the uproar since a majority of americans actually do reject the proposal despite it being perfectly fine and lawful
the positive and negative of democracy is that the populace directly affects the politics, even if their will is uninformed and bastardized by the media.
i just dislike the people who tout the US constitution until it disagrees with their opinion where it is sharply hidden away from view.
unrelated note, iran was going to become a democracy, then the CIA stepped in and installed the Shah with some twiddling.

I dont really see the fuss about this they want to build something near where something terrible happened. so why cant they build their its a building site and even if people are worryed about people in their being trained as terrorists you ve got enough chance anywhere in the world to walk past a terroist. Look in my eyes its a building let them build it.
On barrak obama I agree with ducky he had no real things he was going to for the USA if you want someone fair who will lead your country and not someone who knows what to say at the right time that most people agree with. Then mainly you vote for the people who come up with reasonable goals and stick with them I.E Get free medical care for people by cutting something else ect ect ect.
