I have played this game now for almost 5 years, have I not? I have been here before the new client, before mars, before Seth came, before swearwords became censored.

I have seen it rise, I have seen it drop, I have seen many, many things. I have been called Jasvecht, Richard, Jasper-Alexander, Alexanderkitty, Shatterer, Zaphod Beeblebrox and finally Winters. I have been banned for sexual innuendo's, consistent argumentation against mods (never really got the whole "Staff and rules are not up for discussion" thing.) and finally trolling (even though I do still insist that was never my true intention.)

This was once one of the greatest forums and games, I was proud and glad to be a part of it. Sure, with new client things changed partially for the worse, but also partially for the good. Previously dead idea's got re-awakened and new enthusiasm grew amongst the team. I personally took my part by writing the new Mentoring Center's structure and thread, a project overlooked by Gene (who some of you might remember as a tough but fair moderator, he banned me once but he forced me to respect him simply because Gene unlike most mods did not insist everything was bullet proof, instead he explained to me that it was necessary due to the history of spam. Honesty is something that deserves respect and the staff should consider using it more often.)

This job I handled as professional and enthusiastic as I could (actually got me the position of Jr. and then regular moderator! Wasn't as easy to get back then :D), I encouraged newbies all ways I could think off, I wrote one of the guides, won the first Egotist Arena and was the one to bring the idea of the Battle Dawn Tribune back on the foreground (I was going to be Chief Editor).

I have made many friends and foe's. Such as Seth, who has been the first, then the latter and eventually neither. I must say I thank Seth for his input on the community and his work on keeping it alive- we might not agree on everything (in fact we rarely did agree!) but I think we can mutually agree that we both while we could attempted to improve battle dawn as much as possible and under Seth's watch the community certainly stayed alive and was forged into a more professional form capable of supporting a far larger and newer Battle Dawn, so thanks Seth! Hopefully I will shine upon your block-list for many more ages to come! :D

Battle Dawn always had a team and group constantly attempting to improve it and for a while I was proudly a part of it (but just for a while, unfortunately I have a strong opinion and it simply didn't agree with the high-leveled staff of that time :P), but unfortunately the ones I was fond of left and I have decided it is my place to follow.

I have done almost everything on this game- except for finishing an era. I was the first to join many worlds on New Client (got one FULL AND AWESOME blue token for it from Seth, who applauded my enthusiastic F5-ing of the server screen with it , Andrew however decided to be less encouraging and instead insisted I would give him some maple syrup stuff  ). Not that I don't love you Andrew, I always will and I urge you to always "like" me to . But I digress, I have had a record of 130, 140 and 150 crystals and my total power record is somewhere in the high 300's I belief :) I held a maximum of 3 relics at once and never played an era that I didn't quit at tick 2000-3000 (and I am damn proud on that!) for I was never one to think much of the HoF's :P I was more the kind of player that just wanted to make other players feel the pain  .

After many years of playing, my time has come to an end. Both, as a player and as a member of this community.

My final era, I was playing with 13 of the finest double-tick players in the game (friends of mine, naturally) at E3. You might now have known I was there- for it was a secret alliance. We were named "uMad" (y u mad tho?), our goal being to look like total newbies and break a few records doing it. Unfortunately for us- despite heavy input from many members who I will always love for their hard work in the alliance- we were killed quite early. It was going excellent, but then an alliance came out of protection about tick 100-200 with shields, gates and over a thousand units in our hive (not joking). They played together in a house and didn't sleep- thus even the fact we had the experience of ages did not matter. The donations and cooperation was to grand to be matched even by us. We had someone look into it and they did not cheat- but their cooperation and activity was crazy. You should imagine an alliance sending their full forces to conquer a newbie by their own midnight. Yeah, that's how bad it was.

This showed to me and many of my friends that the tidings had changed and donations (for we too spend nights awake to counter them, as any truly determined alliance would have!) had overtaken skill. We simply couldn't fight against the blunt force, we killed many and did much more damage then in their worst nightmares- but their armies sprung back in a day for at tick 200 a non donator can't poop out the 3000 unit army required to kill and conquer a same-sized enemy at once...

My humble and sincere apologies for my friends and teammates- sorry guys, I honestly thought it would be the same deal as a year ago... Except with far more powerful members.

I love this community, despite my many cynical and sarcastic comments. I always did. if you track back my old account, I was on New Client enthusiastic and was always fond of new idea's. I was however forced this year to watch my favorite website die more by the day, unable to do anything but beg to moderators to change things...

They did, now, but I have to say that this was not what I was hoping for. Jack, you are a fine person, we could get along fine in the past... But this community is now more fitting for a funeral then an MMO. Honestly, dude, if you would have come a year or two ago you would have been perfect. But this community needs to be let loose, it needs to be encouraged not policed. This is a time where someone like good ole' Harvester or Peter is needed. Please take my last bit of advice and scrap a few rules, loosen up the system and make a fresh start on the forums, reorganize everything to be more dynamic, bring back the Tribune and bring back the days where leaders made age-long speeches that made the community tremble and long to one day rise to the stars and have the right of speech themselves as the absolute victor of a worthy era!

Unfortunately, these days, people don't even want to win anymore... What happened to Victory or Death? What happened to teaming up and pulling every trick in the book to prevent someone else from winning? Since when is the first place no longer the only place worthy of any self-respecting alliance to settle for?

Why guys?

In the meanwhile, on the forums, Spam first rose to what seemed to become a new golden era and ended up attracting a large bunch people that to my great surprise roamed strategy games. (I still do not get how anyone who participates in an "Anime Highschool" would also be interested in conquering the world... But that is for the greater minds to wonder about.)

Many of my friends quit, disgusted by the fact they had to read 3 pages of nonsense that was neither comedical or interesting before getting to the next funny post...

Seriously, guys! Spam is supposed to be random yes! But do not FORCE it to be random! Do not post because you "have to post" or because you "can" post, post because you have something worthy of being posted and feel it should be there! Thanks for ruining our section! Jerks!

Tl;dr

Farewell Battle Dawn.

I would like to thank/mention the following people, I may forget many.
Quote:

To begin with, Kenny, despite meeting under circumstances of a fight, we had a good time together. Did we not? You have always been a major contributor to the community- your words and idea's have shaped much of spam's history and out of passion and love for YOUR spam section, you gave your all to cleansing and reviving it. It is truly a shame that Battle Dawn as we knew it died, if there were more people like you it would have surely went on for ages. I see you as a great player of Battle Dawn and Civilization 4/5 (not that i'll let you beat me there yet >: D) and most importantly as a great friend on the interwebs. I am looking forward to our future cooperation :)

Then there is Donald, also known as Psychomantis. How did we met again mate? I do not know, but we sure as hell form a great team. We had little chance to prove it but personally, if I could choose one player to play with, it would be you. For you watch my back better then anyone's and I *try* to watch your enormous back if I am not to busy taking all the conquers ( ), old friend, I hope we will in the future work together somewhere somehow. If not, however, I bid you farewell and the best of luck in your future era's!

Good old Rederoin, thought I would forget you my favorite dutch pedophile? You introduced me to these people! Well, most of them! For you have shown me these forums don't bite as hard as I imagined them from the game :) We had a lot of fights, discussions and disagreements but also a lot of lulz. We will have more of that lulz in the future. We need to have a talk about a kinder garten in my streets. I was thinking a sleepover. We will discuss this on Skype.

Oops almost forgot Callum, who I conveniently found on Kongregate! He has quit the game now, but damn you're a fast learner Call. Both, in the game and at the lovegame if you know what I mean ;). We need to get drunk or something. After I had the beer Kenny promised me, though. For we both know what happens if you let him down :(

Then there's Zal, Harvester, Gene, Evan, Andrew, Michael (who I have had little words with, but I still respect for his open character and his determination to make the best out of Battle Dawn), Seth, Simmen, Numair (my son <3), Apollo (who the hell made you a mod you crazy goose?!?! xD), Jossu, Kennu, Venstro, St. Even, Antony, John (OnlineHero), Mark (Churchill, dear god, I have known you for longer then my dog. You thought I wasn't going to put you in here you silly furry?), Dommy, Kolopaper, Renee (dear god start talking to me more damn you! We haven't had a good talk for ages!), Niracas/Unky (wanted to play with the both of you, shame we never got around to do it! But we did have a lot of great talks, that's for sure :). Oh and Unky, I swear to god every time someone jumps out last second it reminds me of you now >.<), Tomas, Rhys and everyone I missed...

Adieu, Ciao and thanks for everything. I will not be back so do not test me.

Had a great time here, hopefully i'll make the next great time last much longer.

Farewell guys,

Jasper Alexander
Shatterer of Worlds

PS: If you wonder, the site I have been working on is in my profile. Hoping to create a gaming directory, games and api. Imagine Steam but online and more centered around Creative Sharing. Exactly, it'll be incredible. I will not answer PM's but I will answer there in case you seek my contact details or so. Unless you're really late- hoping to study for pilot so will be gone for half a year in a year or so. We got a great, dedicated team.
