today the house passed CISPA, which im sure most of you already know what that is. it'll most likely get passed through the senate as well since they supported SOPA. although the white house has spoken against it there's still a possibility Obama will sign it in. i fear the internet's safety..

also the early voting was to counter vigilante groups (Anonymous was going to shut down CISPA supporting sites May 1st)

Yeah, the dominoes are certainly lined up, aren't they?

White House has officially said they oppose it. They said that about NDAA too. Turns out, they actually wanted more executive authority in the bill, not less. They got it. NDAA signed into law new years eve as most people were celebrating.

I predict a similar event here. I do hope I end up eating crow.

God I love that song.

Basically,
"what a nice and free internet you got there... would be a shame if something happened to it.... sssssssSSSSSSSSSSSSS" - Obama

last minute rush through the house with added clauses that increase the ability to spy... hoping obama vetoes this.

that said. those supporting it were roughly 75% republican to 25% democrat.

name and shame them all.

I doubt anonymous will resort to physical violence. Let alone condone it. All I know is that if they come and try to take my guns from my house, it won't go well for them.

Personally, im more disappointed in the lack of action by the big players last time, wikipedia, facebook, etc.

they seemed so ready and willing during that SOPA hating they made it poison. thats because SOPA directly threatens them with litigations.

CISPA is different, it targets individuals and moves the onus away from corporations and onto individuals, hence, facebook supports cispa and wikipedia is silent.

bravo on microsoft though on voicing its disdain of cispa recently
