Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
The First Championship Era of BattleDawn is stepping into its second month. There were too many things happened in the first month to ever think only a month has passed since the beginning of the biggest event of BattleDawn.
Several things that worth mentioned are the world-wide shortage of Red Bulls, coffee as well as other energy drinks. Internet companies have reported high internet usage at the end of every hour, usually at the last 5 minutes, also, I have lost 1 kg, hurray me!
Jokes, let’s get to the real news report.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
At tick 670, LOST and SoTF had a big battle and LOST won. Posted on the forum about the battle, Naveed Niazi, a member of SoTF, shared:
Quote:
we lost bcz of a member in our alliance - XanDeR - left us when he was mostly needed
he also said that he appreciated LOST for the good battle.
Spoiler:

VND also managed to kill around 400 vehicles of II in an attack

However, despite the heavy losses in SAGE’s side, DR, who attacked and killed BME, and ICE managed to kill several squads of VND’s allies.
Spoiler:
ICE killed BEER member - battle report shared by I
DR killed LOST member - battle report shared by I
Around tick 675, being confident that he can kill 10 squads of VND going to an OP, Thunder Dome1999 - a member of II - decided to attack the OP with 22 squads. However, due to the very high amount of XP, VND managed to kill all 22 squads without a single loss of units.
Spoiler:

VND also managed to kill several more II’s members.
Spoiler:

Around tick 690, SAGE organized an attack of 500 squads on VND. And since VND locked down the OP in the last minutes, SAGE had to play safe and pull back. However, about 120 squads of SAGE weren’t able to turn due to inactivity and were killed.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by VND
After lots of heavy loss from SAGE’s allies (and also SAGE themselves as well), SAGE’s moral has hit rock bottom. Platinum Sage, SAGE’s member, expressed on the broadcast system that following Anthonymn’s idea was a bad choice and it damaged SAGE’s reputation a lot.
HaHa vs GML
GML hasn’t fallen yet. Due to VND and their allies switched focus to the relics as well as SAGE war, HaHa was left alone against GML’s massive amount of subs. However, HaHa managed to kill lots of GML’s units.
Spoiler:

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
Wars are still raging on, and young men are still being killed. Peace is so overrated, as alliances must fight in order to survive in this cruel world.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
Despite SAGE's moral going down after tons of losses on SAGE and allies' side, SAGE's allies kept on fighting and managed to deal some damage to VND's side.
One good example was DR, after killing one LOST member, they pressed on with their attacks and managed to trap and kill 2 HINI members
Spoiler:

Around tick 750, TFM organized an attack on DR. According to DR, they were ion'd 250 times along with the attack, however, they still managed to win. The whole TFM army also got killed.

Before the battle, DR also managed to kill another TFM member.

MILAN REVEALED HIMSELF
Milan (aka Senatus) has just revealed himself on the forum as Apocalypse. He said
Quote:
Tick 750.. Time to reveal myself.
Contrary to popular belief I am not apocalypse... Just kidding, of course I'm apocalypse. Most kills, that's my thing!
Anyway, I'm no longer playing as hidden since I now have enough R4 to deal with any trolls. So in case anyone's wondering who I am on the round again, I hereby confirm I am Apocalypse. I'd change name ingame, but sadly I have no tokens.

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
People are still fighting each other, as I am running out of ideas of how to write the intro.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
Due to several problems, we missed a battle report during the last issues. It was BEER killing the whole army of I alliance, and putting the Immortals to rest.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by BEER
Unlike last issue, this time it was a full loss for SAGE’s side, as SAGE’s allies couldn’t manage to kill any units.
Probably due to low moral, one of SUB member decided to leave the alliance and attack SAGE, as well as his former alliance. He was quickly killed and conquered, however NOMAD's crystals were lost during the process.
Spoiler:

At the same time, VND has reached the lower SAGE’s hive with 300 squads.

On Antarctica, PAIN also started to attack HaHa. According to HaHa, they had an agreement with PAIN, so this is a clear backstab. However, PAIN hasn’t commented on this event yet.

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
The long war between VND and SAGE is going to an end. However, another war has started, once again proved this Championship Era to be packed with wars, battle, blood and coffee.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
In the last issue, VND has started to invade SAGE’s hive in East-most Russia. Under pressure, SAGE had to relocate to Australia.
In order to focus themselves to the SAGE battle, VND allies talked to GML and both side agreed on a NAP. This ended the long and one-sided GML war, and GML once again remain unconquered.
HaHa, who was occupied with the GML war, has started to move East towards Australia to attack SAGE from Antarctica. However, as mentioned in the last issue, HaHa was attacked by PAIN while trying to reach Australia.
According to PAIN leader, this attack was not aim at HaHa alliance, but it was just a fun battle between a member from PAIN and a member from HaHa. However we still haven’t confirmed this information with HaHa yet.
Right as they landed on SAGE’s previous hive in Russia, VND and their allies started to make a living, I mean, make a killing.
Spoiler:
BEER killing SUB - battle report shared by VND
Around tick 930, one member of SAGE was locked down and attacked by 500 squads of VND. Desperate to help their friend, two other SAGE members reinforced the locked member, and died with him.
Spoiler:

SoTF also lost one of their member, however, due to the battle report only has the losing side, and the provider didn’t tell us who made the kill, we’ll have to leave it as VND’s allies. If anyone has any information regarding this, please contact me immediately
Spoiler:
IND also managed to kill a member from ARM.

SoLD and their war with PAIN
After seeing a lot of BCs talking about SoLD. They have decided to voice themselves by posting on the forum. This is what they said:
Quote:
Well since we have answered this many times and other people seem to keep asking its very simple, at the beginning of this round we made a deal with the 2 alliance we knew were going for win VND + SAGE that whoever won we would hand over relics if we had any so this answers the question we will just hand over relics, yes boring it may be but it sticks to our deal with both coalitions that we would not get involved.
We decided long before the round was started we were specifically a just watching but having a bit of fun alliance, although we are rank 1 that is down to us not fighting we don't really deserve rank 1 which someone suggested we really don't, although many of our alliance would like rank 1 we know we don't deserve it we haven't played this era seriously we have been having a great deal of fun.
However, SoLD wasn’t left watching the rest of the era peacefully, as PAIN has declared a war against SoLD. The reason was probably because of sniping. Talking about the war, PAIN leader shared on the forum
Quote:
They call themselves ally but snipe n steal from allies all the time. And the leader edi overlooks his members act. Not to mention all SOLD did whole era is to sit and watch and now they are giving away relics for easy top 3.
We declared this war for the main reason of not letting SoLD finish in top 20. Our own position doesn't matter. But SoLD is not gonna be anywhere near top 20 when era ends.

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
VND's victory was once again interfered, as one of VND's allies decided to challenge VND for the top spot.
WAR
VND vs SEXY
Gaining confidence about their strength and members, SEXY decided to go against VND by attacking VND's relic. Commenting on this event, Milanos (IGN Apocalypse) posted on the forum:
Quote:
Well yes, they did backstab. They broke their agreement. I'm not saying it's unexpected or that they shouldn't do it when going for the win, only that it was breaking an agreement.
Either way, I'm not angry or mad or anything. I like the extra kills, I was hoping you would do this. So good luck
Also expressing his opinion in the forum, Ehsas, a forum member, said:
Quote:
SEXY so far have also been good, when they were rank 12 or so, they took on FEAR which was rank 3-5 at that time, and fought really well.
however seeing that SEXY is kinda alone in NA against VND and allies, it's rather impossible even with 24 hour activity from every single member to win this, the best they can hope for is avoiding VND allies and kill some VND members while defending hive in NA.
Although i have to say, the timings were rather off don't you think? I mean if SAGE attacked just when CBop damaged VND, and if GML and SEXY also joined in at that moment, it would have been a very different story.
10 ticks after the attack from SEXY, VND and allies already managed to get some kills. SEXY quickly lost their ground, and since then it has turned into a big massacre.
Spoiler:
VND's kills - battle report shared by VND
BEER's kills - battle report shared by VND
HaHa's kills - battle report shared by VND
Accepting his defeat, Maverick, a member of SEXY, posted on the forum:
Quote:
Lack of coordination, lack of activity, lack of communication, no plan at all, one noob mistake after another...
I hoped it would had been different, but believed promises to improve which proved to be empty again..
So congrats VND. Sorry we couldn't keep our promise to give you a hard time. Kinda embarassing. Maybe in another era with another team..
And this ended VND's little war, as well as SEXY's time in the Championship Era.
CBop vs TFM
After being killed by DR during the SAGE war, TFM tried to rebuild. However, CBop didn't allow it, and started to attack TFM.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by CBop
CBop tried to attacked an OP where TFM had their entire army. Giving more details about this attack, Crescent Sword, a CBop member, told us:
Quote:
TFM attempted to invade indonesia, we pushed them back , they were "this close" to losing their entire army when they relocated into the path of our 259 squads of tanks. This caused us to get stuck on a shield.
Then, they attempted to take our original OP, they actually succeeded and having us fall for a possible trap. But we recalled a few ticks later and locked down our own original OP, killing those forces.
Apart from Defiance, CBop also managed to kill two other members of TFM.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by CBop
According to CBop, BEER also joined the frontline against CBop to help TFM.
VND vs SAGE
Despite being distracted by SEXY, several VND allies continued with their attacks on SAGE.

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
With SEXY now gone, VND directed their focus at Australia, where SAGE, CBop and their allies built a big fortress to protect the relic.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
Before we go to the main section of this war, let's not forgetting the last battle of SEXY against VND on their relics.
Spoiler:
Battle report shared by SEXY
Situated in Indonesia and the upper-left border of Australia, CBop became the first barrier that VND had to break through. Once again the two alliances confronted each other face to face. The VND vs CBop war at the beginning of the era is said to have been the best and most worth-watching war in this era. So this once again brought a lot of attention from all over the world.
It is said that, with VND's massive amount of XP and units, not to mention their allies, CBop won't be able to put up a good fight like they did anymore. However, some believe that CBop, along with the helps from their allies, will give VND some hard time.
However, SAGE and their allies seem to be unable to hold VND's massive amount of units. Several losses from SAGE's side were seen in the battlefield.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by TFM
CBop, with their active members, have managed to run away from most of VND and allies' attacks, however, two CBop members were locked down and had to disband their units.
PAIN vs SoLD
The war, unsurprisingly, ended with SoLD as the victor. Despite saying they would make sure SoLD doesn't finish in the top 20, PAIN seems unable to deal much damage, as SoLD came out of the war in the top 3. However, the era is not finished yet so PAIN still has time.
Here are several battle reports for the war:

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
As VND starts their invasion of SAGE's hive, the big Australian Fortress is being breached.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
It seems like SAGE's fortress is unable to hold off VND's massive amount of squads. As VND continuously advanced into Australia, SAGE continuously lost ground and units.

On another note, Moon Shine, a former HaHa member and a relic owner, has left the alliance.

Since the era is about to end, there is barely anything to report apart from putting up battle reports sent to us or posted on the forum. While I'm pretty happy that there is still a good amount of battle reports, they are all put into spoilers so it really didn't help making the report longer ;(

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
Peace seems to be brought back soon, as SAGE has finally given up in the war.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
Being surrounded and outnumbered by VND's massive amount of squads, SAGE finally gave up and decided to suicide into TFM. TFM came out alive, but with heavy damage.
[img][http://i.imgur.com/i048GlG.png[/img]
Commenting on the battle, as well as the whole war itself, a SAGE member with forum name bleaky, said:
Quote:
That was an amazing battle! Congratulations to the survivors!
Of course we would have loved to fight VND in our final battle but their complete army would have slaughtered us and we were not active enough to pull a good battle against them (or BEER or HAHA). So I guess this was the best way to finish the era. After all, Daemon built up the VND coalition which he surely deserves a lot of respect for and therefore I personally am not too unhappy about losing my army to Daemon himself.
At this point, I also want to say thanks to our allies for keeping up the fighting so long! It was really fun to be part of the Australia coalition. Good luck to those who are still alive, i hope you manage to kill something and go out in a worthy battle.
Apart from the suicide attack from SAGE, VND's allies also had a lot of other battles where they all come out as victors.
Spoiler:
battle reports shared by VND's allies
VND tried to take TLA's relic, however it nearly ended up as quite a big loss for VND. Regarding this event, Milanos (aka Apocalypse) said:
Quote:
Well holy moly. The scariest thing just happened to me.
I was going to take out the TLAs relic (approximately 180 squads left) with my R4/R5 units. Had to hit with a nuke for it to work, so we have 3 nukes same ETA, I am ETA 1 from hitting. I'm sitting here like a madman refreshing to see if they haven't been ioned. I know that if they get ioned and I let my squads hit, I lose a LOT of the R4/R5 I worked so hard for. With seriously 7 seconds on my clock, my insane refreshing shows "nuke ioned". My heart rate jumps to try and match the current tick (over 1300) and I manage to turn in time.. With probably milliseconds remaining in the tick.
I'd have lost most of my R4/R5, like 17 squads of them. So let this be a wise lesson to everyone, ALWAYS be there end of tick the tick that you hit. Especially the last seconds.
Man, I want to go back to sleep but I am still way too pumped.
Because of that, the relic is still remain untouched.

Hello Dawners, welcome to the Official Championship News Report
The end is near, as all who opposed to VND have been wiped out... well... generally.
WAR
VND vs SAGE
As they failed in their last attempt to take the relic, VND carefully organized another attack in order to take the relic with less loss. As a result, TLAs lost their relic, but killed quite a bit of VND's armor.
Spoiler:
battle report shared by VND
With TLAs' relic finally taken by VND, the VND coalition already has all 10 relics. All VND had to do was cleaning up the rest of the resisting forces, then collect the relics from HaHa, BEER and SoLD.
Sorry for the late report, I had a lot of things going on and couldn't find time to do the report. However, there aren't many things to report about so I guess I should have spent around 5 mins to write this >.>
Next time, to avoid a short report, I'll try to arrange interviews with highlighted alliances in this era (I hope).

Hello Dawners, welcome to the last Official Championship News Report
The end has come, as VND has gathered all 10 relics and held it for 100 ticks. Congratulation to VND for the win.
To end the era, we have interviewed some of the most highlighted alliance throughout the era. They are VND (Senatus aka Milanos) and CBop (Kenny or Laughing Bulls), SAGE however, didn’t respond to my interview request.
Aister: Was there any difficulties, in terms of internal affairs, budgets and activity?
Milanos: Well, one problem that we had was that we had to adapt our original roster. Andrei could not be as active as he wanted to so joined TFM early on, and Matt ran into some issues in real life that made it impossible for him to play at the level required. So we've had to switch up the roster, but that turned out to be easier than we thought. Budget issues.. Well, we had Andrei. I think that answers it. The only activity issues we ran into was that some in our alliance have gone less active for the last days, simply because we have already won. But apart from that, everyone almost always got on when called (won't say names! ) and there weren't big fights in the alliance.
Kenny: There's always difficulties with people butting heads, and not being able to get on, but we work around them and try to find the best timing for certain operations.
Aister: Is there anything that u wanted to do, but couldn't?
Milanos: I wanted to get a massive worker count and a massive army, break my old power record.. However that turned out to be impossible as E6 is a barren place. I've only managed to get about 45 squads of range the entire era, I haven't built a single range squad since tick 300-ish. We simply had wars the ENTIRE time, so I was replacing armor constantly. Plus as E6 is barren, it wasn't possible to get the income needed to do anything else than replace armor. Of course I also spent a lot on nukes.
Kenny: Win. Lol.
Aister: Which alliance, apart from ur own, do u think is the best alliance?
Milanos: I find #3 hard to answer. BEER has been very consistent and a great help, but HaHa was pretty insane the first 500-600 ticks. Of course there is CBop as well. However, I think I'll have to choose between HaHa and BEER simply because they have the added advantage of not having run into spy traps and getting hit by nukes. But between those 2.. BEER has the consistency edge, HaHa has their crazy early game. Can't really chose between those, sadly
Kenny: Ehh, it's hard to tell. GML were good until they gave up.. VND seemed to rely on allies heavily, but I guess they would have the be the best group since everyone else was either playing with them or sucked majorly besides GML and my group.
Aister: Do you think another CE should be held again? If yes then what will be the setup (world, speed, alliance size, any special features, etc.)
Milanos: I would love for another CE to be held again. It was great fun for me to see many of the older players and great alliances return, and of course to kill them all But on a more serious note, what I would do differently.. I would hold the CE on E1 because E1 already has a lot of regular alliances meaning even more would show up, E1 has more new players inflow who could both be picked up into sub/helper alliances and learn the game like that and provide extra income/fighting, and of course E1 is the flagship world. Another thing I would like differently is to have the CE announced longer beforehand, so that there is more time for teams to form and to perhaps play a practice round.
Kenny: Not until a major overhaul or update. Setup doesn't matter, this ideal will continue to play on repeat unless the game becomes harder like it was in OC, people who have no interest in winning and can get active for 1 day can do too much damage.
We also had an interview with admin Ilona, about the CE as well as other things regarding the CE
Aister: How was your admin job on E6? Was there any problems regarding activity, catching cheaters, and working together with another admin?
Ilona: All in all, it was pretty much like any other server. There haven't been an ridicolous amount of cheaters or any other issues. Working together with Seth was great! It was really a nice experience to share a world with another admin and we had not a single problem
Aister: How do you feel about the era, as an admin and as a player?
Ilona: I still wish, I could have played it It was a very exiting era, also as admin. There was no dull moment at all
[b]Aister: What is your personal favorite war? Why?
Ilona: there have been a lot of good wars...more than I could mention here. But for me, the most exiting battles have been those that TFM participated They did some crazy stuff and it was clear to see how much fun they had. Also, they never gave up
This is actually a point that I liked most about CE in general. This strong will to fight for the personal goal
Aister: Do you think there will be another Championship Era? If there will, what will be the time, settings or new features that you think it will have?
Ilona: Honestly? Hmm. I hope that we'll do another one next year, but also I see some issues. The activity on other servers has suffered a lot. All players focused on CE and there wasn't enough competition on other servers. I guess, I'll think about that end of this year as its too early right now
Aister: The Championship Era have brought a strong wave of discussion about what BD should do to solve the biggest problems that it is having now, which is "too many friendlies" and "hugging". What do you think about this?
Ilona: I don't like this hugging and handing over relics to settle for #2 and #3. We could change in-game mechanics to prevent this but at the end, its all up to the players and especially to the leaders on BattleDawn. I think, this generation has build up to many and to deep relationships. Its hard to fight when your opponent is your friend.... So I hope that some underdogs may raise up and take the challenge to fight the veterans. This would be the best for all parties
Aister: Is there anything else that you want to tell to the reader?
Ilona: Thanks to all who participated!!! It was a great experience and a lot of fun. Even when it was stressful at one time or the other
In celebration for his win, Milanos also made a nice era summary with lots of insights from VND’s perspective. Read it here.
