Or should I rather name this So1D vs WN? Because this war started with a surprise attack by WN (#1) on So1D's (#~16) relic. Let me make this an example in showing how rank really does not help one bit when skill is lacking.
This is a picture I took of the highscore at tick 516. Notice the rank of SoLD and of WN. In the last 500 ticks since then, WN pretty much sat back and did nothing, while SoLD fought wars with first H1N1 and then PNC (who also attacked us and got destroyed).
The war started when WN launched a surprise attack on So1D's relic, despite the NAP between us. Doing so, they managed to kill one So1D army (sorry, no screenshot). In the day since then, this happened:
This is a battle report of WN's newest recruit. Formerly rank 23 and of AuAu. He got the rank by sitting tight, not helping in AuAu's wars. Apparently his rank alone was enough for WN to decide he was worthy. See his army composition and judge for yourself.
Next is a gem: A suicide attack pulled of in combination with a nuke. Not only did WN leave their armies on the relic AND fail to ion our nukes, one member was even so nice as to move ONTO the relic while our attack was running.
Finally, So1D get their revenge. This attack was done with spy attacks + lockdown.
So to sum up, the rank1 ally launches a surprise attack on the rank 16 partner ally of SoLD (itself rank4). And one day later, we have the relic back and killed 6 of their armies already. Moral of the story: Rank is nothing if you don't know how to use your armies.
