There is no way western athletes will be able to compete in the future with the mass of chinese athletes who right now are being trained since they can walk to do one specific sporting event, and nothing else. Entire lives dedicated (not through choice) to perform on the world stage once they reach adulthood. After that, it's unlikely anyone will care about them... But the fact is that they will win practically all international sports...
P.S. If they will do this to produce athletes, they can do it to produce soldiers aswell. Business people. Super smart people. People bread and trained to do one specific thing in life.
How will the west compete, with all of our human rights, where everyone is entitled to be average?

Even if China does have the best chances to have the best athletes of all time, because of their training and highest poblation, it doesn't mean they will: key word being *chances*. Even if the chances are of 99% that the best athletes in the world are born in China, that 1% might happen, and the best athletes being born in, say, Africa.

It's not so much "chances" as finding and exploiting talent.

For some reason, as an athlete myself... I feel offended by that sentence.
You're not an athlete, you're a moderator.
Figure skater as well. I also practice wushu. If not an athlete, define athlete?
Well. Your user group says "Moderator"
So by definition you're not :
