SCENARIO:

If I have hostile ships coming towards me trying to conquer me, and I have ships that are ready to deploy but are delayed one tick after the hostile ships come.

Are those ships considered in the castle?
Will they help fight against the invading force?

Or are they not there anymore because they are leaving?

If the delay matches the eta of the enemy ships they will fight so 1 tick delay will fight 1 eta, 2 tick delay will fight 2 eta etc.

When units are set on a delay they are still considered on the op or castle. A few things ignore that rule though, if your units are not at full hp and you set them on a delay they will not recover hp and if you were to have a delay set on your units and someone locks you down they will steal leave when you set. Contrary to what some people think you can spy attack units on delay.
