hello,
I have some interesting android apps/games and I want to run these apps/games on my pc. is there any way to run android apps/game on pc. i heard about some kind of emulator for this. can someone please tell me whether it works? if yes, which one is good and where to get it?
thanks.....

Well, getting a commercial app working could be a bit tricky, as we are required to "sign" any apps we submit to the play store (and the play store is not open source - you need a license to distribute it). For betas and so on you can use many android emulators, other than a multitude of projects you can find on Google Search, you could download the Android SDK and run the emulator from there.

http://developer.android.com/tools/devi ... lator.html is the documentation on that.

All this said and done, I do not recommend it. Computers don't generally have gyroscopes and the likes causing controlling issues in many apps, emulators tend to run slower than the native hardware, getting networking functional can be tricky and apps that feel fluid with Touch can be tedious with the mouse.

Unless you have a multi-touch screen for your computer, I really would not do this.

Edit: The text implied a pirated app may work, this is false. They still oftenly require Google Play Services, including the store, simply to function.

Several simulators do support Play Stores, and you can also install using apk as well.

but as alex said, it won't feel the same. The simulator might run slow (depends on the PC), and the mapping would be pretty tiresome.

The simulator should only be used for testing purpose, it shouldn't be used extensively, especially for playing games.

It's not that emulators do not support (pirated) copies of the playstore, it is that you can not legally install the play store, simply put you're trying to use Google's services in a manner they actively try to prevent - it can cause all kinds of trouble.

I recommend using apks that do not require the play store or other Google services, if you insist on using an emulator.

Lots of apps these days have some sort of Google Chrome version - support the developers and play apps in a supported environment. :)

Edit: You could actually install the Amazon store, which should function just fine (minus the aforementioned usability issues).
