Send spams ahead of your army and then send only enough armor to lose all of it while losing 0 range units so all your exp goes to your range units.

using nukes is a good way to make sure u'll lose the least armor

Once you have your first R4 squad, send it with a nuke and another squad you want xp'd at high unit counts... Once you have broken the R4 Seal so to speak, they come in bunches after that.
