 Post subject: Army Ratios incorporating damage

Is there any way that damage could be incorporated into squads in a beneficial way? I know that the "optimal" squad is 21/9 even 22/8, but would adding a damage unit or 2 in each squad be good overall? Obviously it would help 2 round battles, but there would be no benefit with 1 rounders.

Damage is completely obsolete... Unless your talking about spams.. At that point they have potential... But in basic squads I'd suggest 7/3 20/10 21/9 10/5 11/4 If you want I can go into further detail on that.. But damage is besides for spams if you use em right extremely bad to answer your question..

not true, damage is pretty useful in equal battles

but in normal era, no one do equal battles, they will use alliance members, and spy and nukes to overwhelm the enemy, and get as less round as possible.

however, there are cases when u can't overwhelm the enemy. They are:

- solo or low-member-limit eras
- first 100 ticks of the game

these are cases that damage can be useful. I've heard that some even use 20 damage 10 armor in solo... However it's just a rumor and not verified yet.

If you face an opponent that does not enter into equal battles or close battles or an opponent that uses spies/nukes your damage army will be decimated.

It can be good later on in the game if you are at war with an opposing team that is of similar (high) skill level, since usually these teams will lose armies piecemeal less often, so equal battles or at least battles with an equal number of members on both sides will be more often. Thus, damage has a higher chance to do more damage than range could do. Keep in mind this is a specific case of circumstance however.

If you're playing right though you should outnumber your enemy's by atleast 3 to 2 making damage not efficient... So yes damage has a few good things... but range is just so much better..

Idk if I can agree with that Rupert, if you don't boost like me you will always have a smaller army but the difference is my smaller army is all exp haha. That is where my range build will always destroy damage. Below is my proof of that fact. :lol:

Guys, the battle simulator is their for a reason, USE IT!!! It taught me how to incorporate damage into a squad (although I do realize that damage is not very effective against nuked targets). Also, although I do play Battledawn a lot, I think this is my first time posting in the forum :D .

To say I'd barely beat you with my damage because we went 6 rounds.. And using that as an excuse on the battle sim is silly.. Also... Idk korupt if I'm playing serious I usually boost a bit.. I don't like wasting my time..

the battle sim is just a battle sim, it's not real

first thing, damage is only good at equal battles, and as everyone has said, unless u're playing in solo eras, equal battles rarely happen.

nuked and spied situations happen even more frequent than equal battles...
