Hi Kane. Newbie here and learning the ropes.
Thanks for the post. I think this guide should be presented when you start the game, as it's good to understand what to expect such as getting conquered. I was looking at the colonies around me and was surprised that so many were conquered - now I understand why and what this means.
One thing I would also like to see is a strategy tip, such as what areas I should focus on first. i.e. is it a good idea to develop oil or energy first, etc.? I guess I will learn this in time and from other players, but it could be nice to know.
So anyway, still on day one and finding the whole game very slick. Let's see how it develops!
:)

Very well done, and greatly appreciated.

I have been playing Civ for years, I love the game. But I feel the need to find something new, a new world to escape into. This portal looks promising, and so far the folks that I have had the pleasure of contact with seem like minded. I am ready to join, and now that I have read your guide I must say I am excited to begin.

Well, thank you all that have been supporting this site... and thank you for being so welcoming.

Now I must get back to my BD studies. See you all some day on the battlefield

Great guide. I just started playing 3 days ago, and was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thinking this way makes it seem much more doable.

I see a lot of people suggesting reformatting. While i don't really thing it's strictly necessary (anyone with the determination to play this game as you suggest should have no trouble reading that), if you'd LIKE to it seems you've split the process up into 3 "phases". Simply putting a heading like "phase 1", "phase 2", and "phase 3" at the start of each would make it look much more organized and easy to read.

Excellent guide. I don't normally read forums when I play games. I like to find things out for myself. When I started to play BattleDawn, I found that the tutorial was pretty meaningless. Sort of on the order of teaching chess with: "Here are your chess pieces, they move this way, good luck."
Your guide describes what it takes to have fun.

That's how I was taught to play chess. Now I'm a blackbelt.
