Righto. Damage units have 2 range. Which makes them pretty awesome paired with some armor. It gives them versatility, while I feel the armor units just don't have any combat prowess at all. :(

Armor units are cheap to replace, and have the most HP.

Damage units only hit on round 2, and in most cases, you'd definitely want your battles to last for only 1 round.

Armour function as cannon fodder, not a combat unit. If you neglect to build armour then you'll find your damage and range units dying very very quickly.

Exactly. Armor units are not designed to win you a fight. Their there to take damge/die instead of your valuable fighting units.

(Worst job in the world, right?)

"Your armored squads will most likely determine the outcome of a fight. But they will most likely not live to see what that outcome is."

urrr is that a range unit?

He meant that a range unit has the same damage as a damage unit (or more)?

been readin through this thread and has helped me alot, tho a little to late :( (i made the mistake of mixing chassy types 2 plasma tanks 2 emp hummers 2 humvee's 2 buggy's :P ) but i had a question involing my certain situation.
it sounds like armour and range is the best way to go, but is this so at the start of a game? would it be better to go with damage and armour at the start because its cheaper ( also have this in an infintry and latter on vehicle then finely tank again because of the cheapness.) im in a small alliance and kind of want to stay alive, if i use all my resources on upgrading to range right away i will mostly likely look weak and get conquered and my alliance go down with me

damage only good till tick 100, where everyone has range units.

so I recommend to focus on getting range units if u're not a booster. U will be conquered soon but u can rise up quicklier than making damage units.

I have always found ranged units to be amazing for taking out units and armored for defending my ranged. Normally I keep a 3:1 ratio (Ranged:Armor) To defend.
Best units in my opinion are vehicles, They are less expensive than heavies (or mechs) have a damage boost on heavies and normally kill infantry before they have the chance to get past the armor. Its also great for when the enemy makes the mistake of an all heavy army because that 25% boost really hurts thos guys :D
